I am a fourth year Ph.D. student at the Computer Science Department of University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I am honored to have Prof. Balajee Vamanan as my advisor since 2016. I Spent my first year of PhD in professor John Solworth's lab.
I am primarily interested in computer networks with a focus on datacenters, congestion control, traffic engineering, and low-latency applications.
Datacenter traffic is very bursty by the nature, which easily buildsup the switch buffers on its path to the destination. Currently, we are working on a novel scheme that dedicates a fair amount of buffer to datacenter flows that pass through a switch. On average, this method is fair for all flows, and , also, it improves the tail latency of flows by several orders of magnitude.
